Shingle Creek is at the headwaters of the Florida Everglades and is designated as one of America's Great Outdoors by President Obama. The new linear eco-trail is the result of 25 years of planning and purchasing pristine parcels of land adjacent to the beautiful Shingle Creek. *Phase 1 is complete. Other phases are underway.
The Shingle Creek Regional Trail (SCRT), located in Kissimmee, Florida is part of a planned multi-county trail network for visitors of all ages. Phase 1 is complete and the rest of the trail is under final design and construction.
The trail offers a beautiful, natural environment for cyclists, pedestrians, canoeists/kayakers, bird watchers and other nature lovers. A wide variety of habitats on the trail include Lake Tohopekalgia waterfront and islands, a pristine cypress swamp, an orange grove and wild grasslands. Native flora and fauna abound along the way.
